Matt and Becky’s National Aviary wedding was full of so much love and some of the most incredible handmade details I’ve ever seen! Becky gifted her groom the most beautiful handwritten journal he’ll cherish for years and I don’t think there was a dry eye at the reception as the siblings gave their toasts and prayed over the newlyweds.
Very fitting to the Aviary, every table featured a type of bird with homemade matching cookies at each setting! The mother of the bride made all these gorgeous cookies herself!! No, she isn’t going into business, I already asked! They were incredible!
At every wedding there’s always a first for us as photographers. Sometimes it’s a small detail and other times it’s something big that will stick with us forever! We certainly had one of those forever moments last weekend! We were taking gorgeous sunset portraits along Lake Elizabeth when a large flock of geese flew overhead. They were about 10-15 feet overhead making for a really cool shot, when they started leaving droppings in mid flight all over the back of Becky’s dress!! I was mortified, but Becky, she kept her cool and laughed it off joking that it fit well with the bird theme! Thankfully, we were wrapping up portraits and after the dress was bustled you couldn’t even tell. Becky even got an “I got pooped on at the National Aviary” pin to top it all off!
We had such a great time celebrating with Matt and Becky! Congrats, newlyweds!
